Agriculture in the Philippines is a major sector of the economy, with a large population living in rural areas where farming and other forms of agriculture are the primary means of livelihood. According to the Philippine Statistic Authority, in the third quarter of 2024, agriculture, fishing, and forestry accounted for 7.5 percent of the total GDP, which is lower than the 8.1 percent share in the same period of 2023.
